The Howard Story

 Julius W. Peters, son of Christopher & Cynthia Ann (Hatfield) Peters, was

born July 12, 1850 in VA. He married Sarah Anna Penfold on August 16, 1880 in Lawrence, Douglas Co, KS. Sarah, born February 24, 1857 in (Penn Yan New York) (I think this maybe a mistake), was the daughter of Richard Penfold, born 1818 in Kent County, England and Frances Fullagar, born February 1830 in Maidstone, Kent County, England.

 Jordan Peters, a brother of Julius, maried Lydia Penfold, a sister of Sarah

Ann.

 After the death of Julius W. Peters on December 25, 1897, Sarah Anna with her

children, moved from Lawrence to a small farm 3 1/2 miles south of Lawrence across the road from the Fairview School House.

 Sarah Anna died March 23, 1948.
 The children:

1. Leona Mae born August 8, 1882, died February 2, 1966

  married John Edward Howard on December 18, 1901.

2. Pearl Salina born January 25, 1886, died December 6, 1956

  married Walter DeWitt Howard on March 27, 1913.

3. Robert Vinton born June 20, 1888, died December 28, 1958

  Never Married

4. Mabel born September 14, 1892, died May 28, 1970

  Never Married

5. Two children died in infancy.
