EMMA PEARL WERTZ, 92, Blairsville RD 4, died Monday, July 20, 1992, at Scenery Hill Manor, Indiana. The daughter of Ottis A. and Emma D. Starry Bennett, she was born May 22, 1900, in Socialville. Mrs. Wertz was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville. She was a former employee of Federal Laboratories, Tunnelton. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Gail) Leonard, Blairsville, and Mrs. John (Joan) Preshak, Blairsville RD 4; two sons, Roy G. "Skip" Bennett, Blairsville RD 5, and Victor W. Wertz, Woodbridge, Va.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William R. Wertz; two sisters, Bertha Baumann and Helen Forsha; two brothers, McKinnie and John Bennett; and a granddaughter. The Ferguson-Helm Funeral Home, Blairsville handled all arrangements. Funeral services will be Thursday in the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, with the Rev. C.W. Wion officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.
