In 1917 he was a clerk at Patterson and son Hardware Store in Martin,MI. He was a farmer.
From WWII Men of Martin, Michigan, by the Methodist Church:
Paul Wicks entered service April 26, 1918 with the QuartermasterCorps. 310 Supply Train.
He trained at Camp Custer; Detroit; Lima , Ohio;Halabird Baltimore;and Camp Milli. He made two trips to Baltimore form Detroit, oncewith truck and once with touring car. He was overseas five months.He had a severe attack of rheumatism and was in the hospital fromAugust 24 - Feb. 16. He came home on hospital ship and mustered outFeb. 25, 1919. He died in 1953.

- ↑ Funeral Services for Paul B. Wicks, a Godwin Heights store owner, whodied early Thursday, will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, at the VanderpoolFuneral Home. He was 56.
Mr. Wicks died of a heart attack at this home at 100 Colrain ST, SW.He built the Shadowbox a gift and antique shop at 2913 Division Ave.,S, two years ago, after working for A. May & Sons stor for 19 years asa salesman. Prior to that he was a salesman at Wurzburg's Department Store. Hisdaughter Clarice, a senior at Godwin Heights High School, was chosenHomecoming Queen for the school last Friday. He was born in Watson Township, Allegan county,k and was graduatedform Martin High School. He attended the University of Michigan andserved overseas in the armed forces in World War I. He was a member fo the Cpt. Edward W. Leonard Post American Legioin,Bradley Masonic Lodge No. 296, Godwin Boosters Club, and ParkCongregational Church.
