Mom and Paul were closer than they were with Louise as she was 6 years younger...When Paul left his first wife my mom felt it was justified as his wife Thelma would not support him in his ministry as a Baptist pastor. She would not leave her folks and he had to go elsewhere to get work. His getting involved with Del was never acceptable to the rest of the family. I think her being an overbearing Yankee had a lot to do with it plus all of them were crazy about Evelyn. Evelyn is justified in how she feels about the situation as I think this would be anyone's feelings." |
