Cork, Ireland). According to the manifest, Patrick was 21 years old, he was single, his occupation was Labourer Farmer, he was able to read and write, his last residence was Carrick on Shannon, and his destination was Philadelphia, Pa. Patrick paid for his own passage and had $45 with him for his journey. This was his first time in the United States, and he was going to join his friend John Sadlier (?sp) at 1604 Susquanuma(?sp) Ave, Phila.
The S.S. Oceanic was built by Harlan & Wolff Ltd, Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1899 for White Star and Dominion Lines, for use on the Liverpool-New York service. It was the world's largest liner from 1899-1901.
