1757 June Patrick Boyd Sr., was granted a license for him to keep a ferry from his landing on Dan River on the north side thereof to his own landing on the South side of Dan River.
1761 January 29, Patrick Boyd, Sr., gave to his sons, William Boyd and Patrick Boyd Jr., 480 acres on the north side of Dan River on Silvester Juniel's corner and John Douglas.On the same day Patrick Boyd Sr., gave to his sons, James and John Boyd, 202 acres south side Dan River at Hampton Wade's comer on the river and George Boyd's corner.
