Patricia Ann (Reidy) Crumrine passed away peacefully on February 9, 2013, at the age of 87. Pat was a life-long Akron resident, graduating from Central High School in 1943, and 1946 graduate of St. Thomas Hospital School of Nursing, where she became a Registered Nurse. Her mother, Helen Reidy, believed in college education for all of her 6 daughters, as well as her 2 sons.
Pat began her nursing career with the Department of Public Health Visiting Nurse Service. After raising her 3 children, she returned to work as an RN at Akron General Medical Center, later retiring with 30 years of service at the age of 65.
Pat is survived by her children Christine Ann (Glenn) Wright, Lynn Marie Crumrine, and Jere Thomas Crumrine; 3 granddaughters Michelle (Vince) Tobin, Samantha Wright, and Stephanie Wright; and 3 great-grandchildren Emilie, Maggie, and Connor. She is also survived by 4 of her 7 siblings: Rosemary, Margaret, Eloise, and Martha. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jere Lynn Crumrine, who died in 1993. Her other 3 siblings – John, Robert, and Jeanette, along with their parents Helen & Tom Reidy – also preceded her in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1676 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Copley 44321, on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11AM. The family will receive friends ONE HOUR PRIOR to the mass AT the church. Pat's cremated remains will be interred in a private ceremony, next to her husband Jere, in the veteran's section of Rose Hill Cemetery.
