    [Note: quoting Source:Hargrave, Helena M. Goodale. Goodale-Goodell Forebears, p. 11, "Either the yr. is in error or the first Patience d. young." Because the birth is said to be in Marlborough, it was probably recorded after the fact after they moved to Brookfield. That, plus the fact that most church records are recorded as they happen and so tend to be more timely, hence more reliable, suggest the birth year is wrong, and should be 1762.]
