About Pablo Melecio

Pablo Melecio was born abt. 1900 in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico. He married first, Adela Payan in abt. 1920. They had the following children together: Severiano, Adrian, Manuel, Agapita, Camerina, Saul, Beatrice, Pablo and Adelita. Adela died shortly the birth of their daughter Adelita, due to massive hemorrhaging after childbirth when Pablo refused to take her to the doctor or let a doctor tend to her. Pablo married about six months later, a younger sister of Adela, with whom he had several children (between 9-12).

According to family members, this younger sister of Adela mis-treated her step-children (the children of Pablo's first marriage with her older sister), often refusing to feed or care for them, when Pablo was in the fields working. To their credit, a few of Pablo's children from his second marriage often sneeked food to their older half-siblings, feeling bad about the mis-treatment by their mother.

Pablo Melecio lived until he was about 101 years old.
