Revolutionary War Soldier served at the Battle of Bennington under Capt. Chester Well's company of the Connecticut militia as a private (Belding's Connecticut Regiment) Ozias Dix had a severe illness at the age 22 that left him very deaf. During the Revolutionary War he was called into the Army and one night while he was a Sentinel on Guard an officer stole quietly up behind him and tried to get his gun. They reported him and sent him to prison, but before anything farther took place, the officer discovered his infirmity and he was release from prison and discharge from the army.
