Death Certificate has mother's name listed as "Mary". This plus the birth in Scotland may mean that he has a different mother.

The number of years in the US from the death certificate has discrepancies. Appears to say 26, which would be 1862. Per the census, he was definitely in US before that. Did he leave and travel back? Probably too young for that. Could be 6 years which would be 1882 - that could be possible for him to leave and return.
