The following bio was posted on Owen Jarrett's Find-a-Grave memorial page by Anneta Jarrett. Efforts to contact her have failed.
"Owen Jarrett was born in Greenbrier County, Virginia, now West Virginia, on May 20, 1790. There he married Elizabeth Vincent who as born 6/15/1789. After the birth of their first child they moved to Kanawha County and settled at Jarretts Ford on Elk River in 1812 and purchased several hundred acres of land in Elk District all of which was virgin land. He retained possession of this land until his death on 7/27/1852. His final resting place is in the Jarrett Cemetery at Elkview just a very short distance from the old homestead where he resided throughout his life. His widow died 11/25/1877 and is buried beside her husband in the Jarrett Cemetery at Elkview. They had six sons and three daughters. (bio by: Anneta Jarrett)"
