August 29, 1947: Otto Bowe, 74, a life-long resident of Chippewa County, passed away at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs Wallace Steinmetz, route 2, city.

Mr Bowe was born Nov 3, 1872, in the town of Tilden. He was married Oct 24, 1899, at St Peter's Church in Tilden, to Miss Florence Poirier, who preceded him in death Jun 17, 1930. Mr. Bowe is survived by eight children, Damas and Edward of Tilden; Mrs Herman Boos, Wheaton; Mrs Otto Wucherpfennig, city; Mrs Joseph Gingras, city; Mrs Wallace Steinmetz, Tilden; Mrs Harold Lueck, Bloomer, and Mrs Joseph Rubenzer, of Eau Claire. Twenty-eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
