On the 1905 Wood County, West Virginia marriage record Otto is recorded as being 21 years old; born in Meigs County, Ohio. His place of residence was Reedsville, Ohio. Research and Notes Contributed by Mary Frances Cornell: Per World War I registration card: Employed as a machinist at Athens Foundry and Machine Co. Also states 3 children and card was dated June, 1917. Residence was Athens Co., Ohio. This third child must have died as not mentioned on 1920 census. Per 2005 Rocky Mountain Conference Journal: Otto was licensed in 1921 to preach for Evangelical United Brethren Church. This also gives death date of 1962. The church parsonage where Otto lived was called the Morgan House at 637 Terry Street, Longmont, CO 80501. This house was constructed in 1907. Otto lived at the parsonage from late 1940's to mid 1950's. Also found info from Cultural Resource Historians, Ft. Collins, CO. Per article in Time-Call, May 13, 1955, Colorado: Rev. O. S. Barnhart, who has been pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Longmont since the fall of 1945 has been assigned to Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church in Colorado Springs. Rev. and Mrs. Barnhart have been living at 637 Terry Street in Longmont, but will move to 2925 West Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs. Rev. Barnhart was in charge of the Longmont pastorate when the church building was rebuilt, greatly increasing the value of the property and beautifying the location. .Active in Longmont Ministerial association, the pastor also took part in union services and has been an associate member of the Gideons organization.. He reports the church here now is an active and growing organization. Friends today expressed regret over the Barnhart's having to move to another field. Their work in Colorado Springs will be much the same kind as they have been able to accomplish while in Longmont. Rev. Barnhart will begin his duties next week at the new assignment at Trinity Church, Thirtieth and Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs. He will hold concluding services in the Longmont church Sunday at 11:00 am. Per obit Denver Post, May 8, 1962 page 13: Services were Tuesday at the Chapel of the Chimes for the Rev. Otto S. Barnhart, 75, of 4215 Zuni Street who died Friday in St. Anthony's Hospital. Burial was in Crown Hill. The Rev. Mr. Barnhart, a Evangelical United Brethren Church minister, was born Sept 29, 1886 in Syracuse, Ohio. He attended Ohio schools and was married to Rosena F. Tiffany in 1905. They came to Colorado in 1911, settling in Pueblo where Barnhart worked in the steel mills. The later moved to Akron, Colorado, he serving as minister to congregations in Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. They came to Denver from Akron, Colorado 28 years ago. The Rev. Mr. Barnhart was a member of Central Evangelical United Brethren Church here. Mrs. Barnhart died earlier this year. Surviving are a son Carl F. and a daughter Mrs. Elsie Moore, both of Denver; a brother Joe E., Somerset, Ohio, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. References
