Oscar grew in Telfair County but lived after his marriage in the 5th District of Irwin County, in that part which was detached and cut into Berrien County in 1856. He served as County Surveyor of Irwin County, 1851-1854. He was a member of the Masonic order with his membership in Duncan Lodge, No. 234, at Nashville, of which lodge he was a charter member. Oscar was a member of the first Board of Education of Berrien County in 1872 and served until his death in 1874. |
