(Springfield, Chicopee, Chicopee Falls, and West Springfield MA 1884-85) Served in 22nd Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment 1863-1864 Wounded at battle of Wilderness and captured by Confederates. Spent approx 5 months recuperating in prision hospital at Lynchburg, VA. Paroled at Richmond Sep 24, 1864 and spent remainder of Civil War as clerk at Annapolis, MD. (Civil War diary of Orrin W.
