Mildred Joyner, born 1845, was the youngest child of Peter Garland Joyner, born 1799 (son of Peter and Mildred (Dillard) Joyner) who married in 1841, his first cousin Oney Dillard Tyler, born in Amherst county, in 1800. Oney Dillard Tyler was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Dillard) Tyler and the widow of Col. Richard Huckstep of the British Army
