Marriage Records family records of the Murdocks from "Murdocks Across America" in possession of Ola Ballard One day my dad was given some pancakes and syrup to eat. He sat them on a chair on the living room, using it as a table. (This was probably in Red Rock, western New Mexico.) His dad came in from the field, greeted his son, and then sat down on the pancakes. When he noticed what he had done, he got up and did a little jig, dancing around the living room, laughing. Oliver Boyd was called Ollie when he was a boy. When his dad, Isaac Newton died, he and his brothers and sisters were taken away from their mother. They were placed in the Masonic Home for Widows and Orphans in Tarrant Co. Texas. He was placed on a farm in Johnson Co. as a ward of an W. M. Harp from Tennessee (whose wife H. T. was from Georgia) just southwest of Mansfield, their home.
