1851 March 19 - Oliver James Lloyd was born in Mercer Co., IL. His parents were James Lloyd and Catherine Burroughs.

1872 March 19 - On his 21st birthday, Oliver J. Lloyd married Frankie Vernon, the daughter of Caleb Vernon and Nancy Walston. They had 5 children per Marvin Lloyd. See Marvin's 1985 letter in files. Five children were named in Oliver's probate record. See below.

1887 - According to his biography in an Elm Creek, Nebraska, history book, Oliver Lloyd sold his land in Mercer Co., IL; with his wife Frankie and their children they went to Elm Creek, Nebraska, to settle. Per family stories, his married brother Benjamin B. Lloyd and his wife Bell Fidlar also came to Elm Creek at that time.

c. spring of 1889, he settled on 280 acres in Dawson Co., NE.

1895 Feb - His wife Frankie Vernon Lloyd died.

In 1896, Oliver moved into the town of Elm Creek. He lived there two years, then moved back onto his farm. 1896 School District No. 9 Census- Oliver J. Lloyd's children: Florence 16, Oliver 18, and Bessie 9.

1897 - Oliver J. Lloyd served as president of the village board of Elm Creek, NE (i.e. the mayor of Elm Creek).

1898 - Moved back onto his farm, per his biography in the history book.
