Injuries Received in Accident Prove Fatal


Mrs. Olive Smaltz, in Automobile Mishap Sunday Night, Dies At Lutheran Hospital.


Machine Is Overturned


Mrs. Olive A. Smaltz, aged 64, of 3434 Broadway, died at the Lutheran hospital this morning at 11:15 o'clock as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident last Sunday night. She suffered a fracture of the right clavicle and several painful bruises when the automobile in which she was riding with her husband, was overturned in a collision with an automobile driven by Robert Werling, of Ossian, at Lake and Crescent avenues. She was a member of the First Baptist church and of the Blible class of that church, and was also affilated with the American Yeomen Lodge, No. 856. Surviving besides the husband Paul, are two daughters, Mrs Katherine Rarrick and Mrs. Ida Waters, of this city; three sons, Albert, of Cassopolis, Mich.; Sidney, of Oakland, Cal., and Charles of Chicago; two brothers, William Welsheimer, of Toledo, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
