OLIVE HOLLENBECK

Olive Lucy Hollenbeck died in Hood River, Ore., on April 20, 2005, at the age of 90. She was born in Weiser, Idaho, on Nov. 24, 1914, the daughter of Gertrude (Ansell) and William Albert Lesh.

After growing up in Idaho, Mrs. Hollenbeck moved to Toppenish where she worked for a doctor. She met Harold D. Hollenbeck and the couple married on March 20, 1935. Mr. and Mrs. Hollenbeck settled in Trout Lake, where they ran a saw mill and spent the rest of their lives.

Mrs. Hollenbeck had many interests including history and traveling. She had quite a collection of Indian artifacts as well. She loved to spend time gardening and reading and was well-known for her apple pies as she baked the very best.

Surviving Mrs. Hollenbeck are her children David Hollenbeck, Port Orchard, and Zoe Wood, Trout Lake; sister Mildred Hollenbeck, Newberg, Ore.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Harold, who died in 1970, son Ron Hollenbeck who died in 1973, and 10 siblings including her twin brother.

The family will hold a private service. Memorials can be made to the Klickitat County Historical Society. Gardner Funeral Home's Columbia River Crematory in White Salmon handled arrangements.
