    Olive R. Hoffmeister, 98, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, August 30, 2006. Olive was born October 21, 1907 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Isaac Newton and Mary Elsie Hamilton Ice. She retired in October 1972 from the Kansas Department of Revenue. Olive was a lifelong member of Central Church of Christ, Topeka. She married Charles B. Hoffmeister February 25, 1930 at Des Moines, IA. He preceded her in death February 9, 1992. She is survived by one son, Boyd Hoffmeister, Garland, TX; two daughters, Karen Diehl, Seneca, SC; Nola Mlynek, Topeka; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Hoffmeister will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. that evening. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Central Church of Christ Building Fund, or to the Tall Grass Christian Camp, 1250 SW College Avenue, Topeka, 66604.
