Whereas the births are recorded after the fact (whole family in one group in an otherwise chronological record), the church records are recorded as they happened and so the church records would be regarded as more reliable from that standpoint. The versions of the town records online are all so neat, they must be copies oldest appearing one here, so there does not seem to be access to the original. But based on the spacing of sibling births and the baptism, it seems very likely this should say 1768.]
