Retired Minister, Rev. Rife, Dies
Rev. O. C. Rife, 79, of Warren, a retired minister and farmer, died at 3:10 p.m. Friday in the Wells County Hospital after a serious illness since March.
He was born May 5, 1880, in Grant County, residing in Huntington County the past 22 years.
Rev. Rife was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Lancaster.
Surviving are the widow, the former Pearl Flora, to whom he was married Dec. 3, 1940; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Carey, North Manchester; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and two brothers, Wilfred E. Rife, Fort Wayne, and O. E. Rife, Riverside, Calif.
The body has been returned to the H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at Warren, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lancaster Church of the Brethren. Rev. Conrad Snavely, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Walter C. Stinebaugh of Markle and Rev. E. Paul Weaver of Lancaster. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Wabash County.
