BIOGRAPHY: The Roundup Record Roundup, Montana Friday, February 27, 1920 Page 4 White Wyandottes Winners Pen of Ten Laid 2,234 Eggs in Connecticut Agricultural College Contest Storrs, Conn.-The tenth annual egg-laying contest at the state agricultural college here has been won by a pen of White Wyandottes entered by Obed G. Knight of Bridgeton, R. I., making the third year of White Wyandottes carrying of the honors. The final score of the winners was 2,234, and average of 223 eggs for each of the ten pullets in the blue ribbon pen. November finds another 1,000 birds getting away to a good start for the eleventh annual contest. A daily record is kept of each individual bird, so that very informing and helpful comparisons are possible. These contests have stimulated poultry clubs throughout the state, especially among farmers' children. |
