1919 - Attestation for Short Service in The Buffs: Norris Albert GREENSTREET, of 165 Heathfield Avenue, Buckland, Dover, Kent, stoker, aged 18 years 10 months, signed 13th March. Had served previously in the Bedford Regiment for 271 days. He was described as 5 ft 2 1/2 inches, 105 lbs chest girth 33 ins with 2 ins expansion, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair with two scars on chest and one on top of left wrist. Was posted as a private on 11/10/19 and given 28 days detention on 3/12/20. He served in India from 16/3/20 to 7/7/20 and was treated for malaria from 12/8/20 and 22/8/20. He was discharged, being no longer fit for War Service on 25/2/21. He had moderate deafness in right ear from infancy, attributed to measles, which was still discharging. The ear drum was perforated.
