He is buried in the soldiers area of Whena Tapu, which is near where he was living at that time. He and Kitty were divorced. He had a couple of nick names, Sandy & Shorty. I do know he was in Crete during the war. Shane has his medals one of which he thinks is the Africa star medal. Marie has his war records, which she will delve into when she is ready. He worked on a dam project (Arapuni.) we think, during the depression, and his two brothers stayed with the cartage business in Wellington. I know he could speak maori quite well, and was quite a character. (Lynette Pelham, Jan 2001). Service # 6616. During WW2 he served in the ASC and Pet Coy. Marie McAuley has his Service Record.
