Norman Phillips Fostoria -- A private memorial service for Norman F Phillips, 77, of 4 25 W Ridge Drive, Unit 11, Fostoria, will be held at Mann-Hare Funeral Hom e, Fostoria, the Rev. Lucinda Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Knollc rest Gardens, east of Findlay, with military rites by United Veterans of F ostoria. No visitation will be held. Mr. Phillips died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Independence Ho use, Fostoria. He was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Risingsun to Floyd W and Elizabeth (Kinne y) Phillips. He married Marjorie K Fawcett on Sept. 9, 1944, and they divo rced. She died May 21, 1992. He married W LaVonne Roppe on Feb. 23, 197 4, and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael J of Annandale, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. S am (Ann) DiMisa, Fairfax Station, Va.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert (Pau la) Lombardy and Pamela Huffman, both of Fostoria; eight grandchildren; se ven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Jurrus, Hamilto n. Mr. Phillips retired as a dairy farmer in the Risingsun area. He was a U.S Navy veteran of World War II, serving as an electrician M3.
