    Norma Jean McElhinney Barger, 75, of Callensburg, died at 3:05 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Pat Nader of Cochranton, after a battle with cancer. Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Harrisville, she was a daughter of Clyde and Elenor THOMPSON. She was raised by her grandparents, Ford and Nora Thompson, on a farm near Clintonville. For many years, Mrs. Barger worked as a cosmetologist at the Crawford Store and at Carlisle's in Meadville and Erie. She was a member of the Church of God in Callensburg. Mrs. Barger first was married Nov. 17, 1939, to James E. McElhinney, who died Aug. 11, 1982. She then married Jardine Jab Barger, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Thomas J. and Carol McElhinney of Conneaut Lake and Edward E. and Deborah McElhinney of Franklin; two daughters and their husbands, Vera J. and William SEELEY of Springboro and Patricia G. and Raymond NADER of Cochranton; one stepson and his wife, Richard and Bonnie Barger of Tylersburg; 14 grand children; 21 great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Barger was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Thompson. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 103 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Hepler, pastor of the Callensburg Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in the Peters Chapel Cemetery, Irwin Township, Venango County. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Hospice of Craw ford County, 448 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
