Mrs. Nora B. McWilliams, 91, died Tuesday at 6:50 p.m. in the Odd Fellows Nursing Center, having been in failing health several months. Mrs. McWilliams was born Nov. 30, 1889 near Napoleon in Ripley County, the daughter of Joseph Luna and Sara Josephine Marsh Pate. She had lived in Greensburg all her married life. She had worked over 24 years at the Public Telephone Company as a toll operator. She moved to Greensburg in 1933, living in Napoleon prior to that time. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Napoleon, and graduated from the Napoleon High school. She was first married to Clarence R. Brown in 1910, and he preceded her in death in 1933. She was married to Hallie McWilliams July 23, 1946 in Jeffersonville, and he preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1978. She is survived by one brother, Gilbert L. Pate, Shelbyville, and a sister-in-law, Nellie McWilliams, Sandusky. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Rilla Gertrude Whittaker, Dora Headlee, a twin to Nora, Belva L. Pate, and Mabel P. Pate, and a brother who died in infancy. The services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Chattin of the Greensburg United Methodist Church officiating, and with burial in the Napoleon Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday.
