Found Nicholas and Barbara on the passenger list for the "Rockingham" that arrived in N.Y. in Aug of 1836. They were traveling with Jacob and Anna Detzler and Susanna Wagner, age 25. Maybe she was a sister of Nicholas. The next records found for Nicholaus and Barbara Wagner are the baptismal records for their son John and daughter Elizabeth 1837 and 1840 at St. Louis Church in Buffalo, Erie Co., NY. Nicholaus is also listed in the 1840 census in Buffalo, NY. In this family there are 3 females besides Barbara. A female under 5 (prob Elizabeth b 1840), a female between 5-10, another between 10-15 . They also have a male child under 5, this is probably John b 1837. On 10 Feb 1841, Nicholaus' name appears in Canada on a list of citizens that applied for Naturalization. So Nicholaus and Barbara (Detzler) must of moved to Canada sometime in 1840. Their marriage date and place were given to Donna Haid by a cousin in Germany. Nicholaus (b 27 Aug 1803 d 8 May 1875) and his second wife are in Wilmot Twp., Ontario in the1851, 1861 and 1871 census in the same area as the Detzlers, Bricks, and Meyers. References
