- Nicholas De St. Maur (Seymour), 3rd son of the 1st Lord St. Maur, being 2nd son by his second wife, but, by the death of his elder brother of the whole blood Alan, 1st surviving son and heir of his mother, and heir male of his half brother, Thomas, was an infant at his father's death. In the retinue of Sir Maurice de Berkeley he fought at Crecy, 13 Aug 1346, and later in the siege of Calais. In 1346, being then a Knight, he had exemption from summons on assizes,& c.; J. P. Somerset, 1351. He was summoned to Parliament 15 November 1350 to 20 Nov 1360.

- He married Muriel, daughter of James Lovel, and granddaughter and heir of Richard, 1st Lord Lovel of Castle Cary (died 1350-51), and so, according to modern theory, dejure suojure Baroness Lovel, who, besides Castle Cary and other extensive property in Somerset and Dorset, brought him lands in Scotland. She is said (1361) to have died "long since". He died 8 August 1361. [Complete Peerage XI:359-60, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
