Nicholas Winkler Jr. was also a planter in Purrysburg, Beaufort County, South Carolina. His father deeded him some land in the care of his brother in the 1760's. Nicholas Jr. also served in the Militia as a horseman in 1781 during the Revolution. He died in March of 1802, Beaufort County, South Carolina. According to his son Shadrach's Will, there was to be a plain white monument placed over his parents graves but he doesn't say where they are buried. (The Shadrach Winkler Notes) He married a Mary Jane ? He had two other children besides Shadrach and Zachariah were Hezekiah Winkler and Jane Abednego Windkler From the 1790 South Carolina Census Nicholas Winkler Jr. 2 Males 16 and up including head of household 2 Males under 16 1 Female 6 Slaves Nicholas Sr. also served Jury Duty as a Petit Juror in 1767. Nicholas Winkler Sr. also served in the Militia as a private and a Sergeant Major, in 1779, 1781 & 1782 according to a claim issued on May 14th, 1785. His son Nicholas Jr. also served. Nikolaus Winckler, 1713, from Purysburg, & Anna Barbara, 48 applies for grant.
