OTHER RECORDS: 8.5.1804 Information that Nicholas Were of Wellington, notwithstanding repeated advice of Friends, has been inconsistent in divers respects with our religious profession, particularly in neglecting attendance at our meetings and in lately drawn into the Militia in providing a substitute to serve in his stead. Nicholas received his visitors with open-ness and respect, but did not give satisfaction. He is declared at disunity and removed from the Society, but are desirous by Divine Grace that he may be restored. (Minutes of the Wellington Meeting). 8.1.1811 - Cerificate of removal on behalf of Frances Were, wife of Nicholas Were, not a member, and her children removed and settled at Looe, Cornwall. Certificate amended and returned to East Division of Cornwall, acceptance of receipt not being received until 14.1.1812. (Minute Books of the WellingtonMeeting).

CONFLICT: Leicester gives incorrect parentage for Nicholas. A generation has been slipped - Thomas was the grandfather.
