    NicholasB Merwin (ThomasC), JohnD) was born say 1555. Virtually nothing is known of this man, but he was almost certainly the brother of Anthony Merwin, because Nicholas' grandson and male heir, Thomas Merwin Jr., was made Anthony's chief heir. Likewise, Nicholas' second son, Walter Merwin, named a son Anthony, and also served as a witness to the 1634 will of the senior Anthony Merwin. Nicholas married by 1580, but the name of his wife has not been learned. There is no record of his burial at Amersham, and it seems likely that he moved with his brother Anthony to Clewer, Berkshire, for which early parish registers have not survived. No probate record for Nicholas Merwin has been found.
