Nellie B. Young, a homemaker who served on Union Memorial Hospital's board during the 1950s and 1960s, died of complications from an infection at Roland Park Place on March 22. She was 91.
The former Nellie Biays was born in Mount Savage, Allegany County. She lived many years in Homeland, moving to the retirement home in 1984.
In 1929, she married Frederick Colston Young, who died in 1982.
A memorial service was held Saturday . She is survived by two sons, James B. Young of Ednor Gardens and Dr. Hugh Hampton Young II of Boston; a daughter, Betsy Young Fenhagen of Chapel Hill, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
