Obituary Neil H. McConnell NeilH.McConnell, 78, of Devils Lake, ND formerly of Sarles, ND died Thursday, October 5,1995 at the Lake Region Lutheran Home, Devils Lake. Funeral Services willbe Monday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, DevilsLake with burial in the Corinthian Cemetery, Calvin, ND. Pallbearers will be Monte Hermanson, Daryl McLeod, Travis McLeod, Phil Langerud, David McConnell andChris McConnell. Neil H. McConnell was born January 12, 1917 at Sarles, ND the son of Thomas and Mary Hoy McConnell. He was reared and educated at Sarles.He later started farming his parent's rural Sarles farm. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Langerud November 8, 1945 at Langdon, ND. They established theirhome on his farm. In 1981 they retired from farming and moved into Devils Lakewhere they have since made their home. He was a former member of the Sarles Presbyterian Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Devils Lake, and the Masonic Lodge of Sarles where he was a Past Master. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Daryl McLeod of Sarles, and Mary and Monte Hermanson of Towner, ND; sons and daughters-in-law, Everett and Patricia ofBismarck, ND and Howard and Sherry of Sarles; nine grandchildren; sisters, Myrtle Suttle of Morris, IL, and Mabel Preston of Story City, LA; one brother, Harold McConnell of Sarles; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George. Gilbertson Funeral Home in charge ofarrangements.
