He was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Torrington to Ellery and Iva Faye (Wilson) Frye. He was raised in Torrington where he graduated from high school in 1952. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Italy and the United States. He was separated from the service in January 1957. On July 26, 1957, he married Elnora Hood in Torrington. He attended Eastern Wyoming County College and transferred to the University of Wyoming 1959 where he graduated in 1962 with a B.S. degree in animal science. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Fraternity (National Animal Science Honorary) and Gamma Sigma Delta (Honor Society of Agricultural Science). He was employed at the University of Wyoming for 35 years beginning in 1960 where he worked as beef herdsman and later retired as superintendent of the Experimental Livestock Farms. After retiring from the University of Wyoming, he worked as a brand inspector for the Wyoming Department of Agriculture until her retired in 2003. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the board of trustees and had been active in the Joy Class for many years. He was a member of the Cowboy Joe Club and IOOF. He was an annual contributor of the Steer of the Year and served on the board of the Pioneer Canal Irrigation District. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Doyle Dudney and Charles Dudney. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Casey B. Frye and his wife Tanja of Ames, Iowa, and Cody B. Frye and his wife Sherri of Ridgefield, Wash., and their two sons, Jay Frye and Justin Frye; one daughter, Carrie B. Johnson and her husband, Kevin of Lander, and their two sons, Kyle Johnson and Clark Johnson; one brother, Rex Frye of Cheyenne; one sister, Enid Thompson of Torrington and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Neuenschwander officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2221 and the Husted-Pendleton American Legion Post No. 14. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, WYOBA Camp Scholarship Fund, P.O.
