"2 Nathaniel Stanley (Thomas.) Eldest son of Thomas and Benett Stanley, born in Hartford about 1638; removed with his father to Hadley in 1659, and was townsman there in 1665. He returned to Hartford the same year, and was chosen a townsman there February 16, 1665-6; was a deputy to the General Court; an Assistant 1690-1712; Judge of the County court and Court of Probate. He married, June 2, 1759, Sarah, daughter of James and Alice Boosey, of Wethersfield, who was born November 12, 1643, and died August 18, 1716, aged seventy-six. Both were received to the Second church in Hartford March 31, 1678. He died November 14, 1712. His estate amounted to £1,618. 19. 0."

Nathaniel Stanley and Sarah his wife rec'd 2nd Ch Mch 31, 1678. … Removed to Hadley with his father; townsman there 1665; returned to Hartford 1669; townsman Feb 16, 1665-6; again Dec 1676-80-85 and May 21, 1688; constable Feb 1672-3; ensign of the train band; deputy 1678-7; assistant 1690-1712; judge of Council of Safety 1689, 1707, 1708; on Committee of War for Hartford Co.; a man of much wealth and influence.

Stanly, Nathaniel, Hartford. Invt. £1618-19-00. Taken 17 December, 1712, by Joseph Talcott, William Whiting and Aaron Cooke. Will dated 11 November, 1712.
I, Nathaniel Stanly of Hartford, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my wife Sarah Stanly one moiety or 1-2 part of all my estate, both real and personal, during her natural life. And further, my mind is that my sd. wife shall have the use of that part of my mansion house which she shall make choice of. I give to my sd. wife £100 out of my moveable estate to be at her disposal. I give to my son Nathaniel Stanly the other moiety of my estate, both real and personal; and further my mind is that after the decease of his mother that moiety of my estate which I bequeathed to her during her natural life shall be to my sd. son and his heirs forever. I give to my daughter Mary Hooker, besides what I have formerly given to her, by deed of guift, 20 shillings. I constitute my wife and my son Nathaniel executors.
