Is listed in the censuses of both 1810 and 1820 as a resident of Franklin Co., KY. ". . .recorded as born in Goochland County, VA 1768. He m first Ann Read, 1791, and second Fanny Bullard, Shelby 1821. He was in Woodford (KY) 1791, evidently in Frankfort (KY), where about 1796 a lot was sold "next to Nathaniel Richardson's cabbin." He afterward lived on Big Benson, where in 1810 he had a family of eight, and in 1836 was in Lewis County, Missouri. His children were a, Nathaniel, m Susanna Depuy, Shelby 1811; b, Mary Ann, m Charles Hall, F 1820; c, Eliza Pemberton; d, William m his cousin, Martha B. Richardson, 1834 f, John Carter, m Fanny Arbuckle; g, James A., m Mary Shannon (dau Rev. Samuel), F 1816; h, Francis R., m Sarah C. Major, F 1826; i, Hiram, m Sally Scofield (dau John), F 1826." (Forks of Elkhorn Church p. 232).

I have a Bible inscribed as given to Nathaniel Richardson by his mother Anne Richardson on 4/2/1770. The list of his children which appears there is at variance with the list above. (Mike Flanagan)

"My Grandfather, Nathaniel Richardson was first married July 15, 1791 to Miss Ann Read in Ky. He moved to Ky. from Va. when young, and settled near Frankfort where he raised his whole family. He was a graduate of Richmond Va. University and studied law there and was admitted to the bar. Soon after being admitted to the bar he went to Ky. where he practiced law a short time but gave it up. He was afterwards a Judge and Sheriff of Franklin Co., Ky. several terms. He had a large tract of land there and gave most of his attention to farming. He moved to Missouri with his family in 1833 and settled on a farm one mile west of Monticello in Lewis County, where he had entered some 500 acres of land at $1.25 per acre. He had a large number of negro slaves and lived on and cultivated his farm until his death Feby. 8, 1852. . . . He was four times married; the first time to Miss Ann Read (with whom he had 10 children) . . . Two of his other wives were Susan Bullock and Eliza Wills, a widow. I think the other's name was DuPee. He had no children by any of them (the last three)." from an interview of N.R. Hall by Harry Middleton Hyatt conducted on July 19, 1901.
