"3. Nathaniel2 Kimberly (Thomas1), born at a guess about 1637, died at New Haven, Conn., between 26 Oct. and 9 Nov. 1705; married Miriam _____. He remained in New Haven, living on the 'west side' in what is now West Haven. In 1668 Winthrop referred in his Medical Journal to Miriam wife of Nathaniel Kimberly. As this was during the period when the children were born, she was probably their mother. No reference to any other wife has been seen, though in some printed sources his wife has been called Mary.

Nathaniel called himself 'Taylor' in his will, which was dated 26 Oct. 1705 when he was 'sick & weak in body,' and was proved the following month. He gave an acre of land to his daughter Elizabeth 'Mallarie' and other land to his daughter Sarah 'Blakely.' He gave his largest iron pot to 'my Grandchild Deborah Kerby,' and three sheep to 'my Grandsonn Abiell Kerby,' but the scribe evidently misunderstood the last name, for an appended memorandum states that 'her name is Abia.' He gave a mare and some household effects to his daughter Mary Chittenden. The rest of his estate he gave to 'my Loving and onely sonn Nathaniell Kimberly.' He stipulated that his son should provide for his wife if she 'do survive me … under her great Weakness and Age,' and made his son executor. The estate was inventoried on 9 Nov. 1705 at £237.12.0.
