"At the age of 2 1/2 he was bound out to Secretary Nathaniel Morton, and was brought up in his family; he resided in Plymouth till 1700, or thereabouts, when he removed to Plympton, and was one of the earliest settlers of that town. In the years 1718, 1719, and 1720 he was town treasurer of Plympton."[1]
