There were two Nathaniel Elkins living in Roane County Tennessee in 1850.
Nathaniel H Elkins was still living at home with his father and step mother in 1850. 1860 he is married to Jane Lowe. After the 1870 census they moved to Texas.
The Nathaniel who is married to Tempy is not connected to William And Elizabeth Elkins, he could be the son of John and Nancy Elkins.
1840 census there is a son living with John and Nancy who is the right age.
1850 census their son is not living with them.
