[Note: Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868, vol. 2, p. 4, in a footnote, lists the "other heirs" of the estate as George Adams Jr. of Watertown, Nathaniel, Benjamin and John of Lexington, and Martha Samuel [sic, Sarah?] and Abigail [wife of Ebenezer Brown). No such list was seen in either the probate file, nor the recorded versions of the documents. With the presumed correction of Samuel to Sarah, these are the children of George Adams and Martha Fiske, Nathaniel's siblings, and would confirm the impression that Nathaniel had no wife or issue.]

  3.   The error about this Nathaniel Adams marrying Eunice Stearns appears to start with Source:Van Wagenen, Avis Stearns. Genealogy and Memoirs of Isaac Stearns and His Descendants, p. 41. That work is cited by Source:Bond, Henry. Family Memorials. Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts, Including Waltham and Weston (1855), p. 2. Either one of those works may have misinformed Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. History of Grafton, Worcester County, Massachusetts, p. 443. See the cited probate showing Nathaniel still lived in Lexington when he died in 1757, and that he appears to have been unmarried. Many Middlesex deeds attest that he never appears to have lived anywhere else (28:435, 31:358, 31:527, 34:314, 41:69, 41:386, 49:240, 54:145, 55:43, 55:128). It was a different Nathaniel Adams of Grafton who married Eunice Stearns and their children are mentioned in his will.
