Nathan D Vance, 87, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Monday.

Born in Fostoria to Charles and Rilla (Price) Vance, he had lived in FL si nce 1985 after retiring as an elementary school principal in Fremont and F ostoria.

He served his country in the U.S Coast Guard and was a member of the VF W. He attended Calvary Assembly of God.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Josephine; children Jane (Terry) Co ok of Findlay, Jim Vance of Port Charlotte and Amy (Eric) Harrison of Po rt Charlotte; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sons Richa rd and Shane Vance are deceased.

Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Port Charlotte Chapel of the Kays-Pong er/Royal Palm Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel P Kolenda officiating.
