  1.   Letter dated April 15 1844, from Isaac Cordray of Morgantown VA., to a lawyer in St. Landry County LA. concerning the settlement of his brother Nathan's estate.

[It was to Attorney B. C. Gates, Bulew Ferry, Sabine River, St. Landry Parish, LA.
from Isaac Cordray of Morgantown VA. dated July 15, 1844. It seems that Mr. Gates was the executor of the estate of a Nathan Cordray who had died in LA. and had written a letter to a D.W. Cordray concerning this. Isaac had picked up the letter because D.W. Cordray no longer lived in Morgantown.

    Letter also mentions
David Cordray, (a brother living in MO.)
Drusilla Williams Cordray, (relationship unknown) and
    Evan Stewart, (a cousin, deseased).]

  2.   Family notes per User:Margrood.

Nathan Cordray, tenth and youngest child of Thomas Cordray and Sarah Stewart, went down South. I am trying to find whether Nathan was in Texas before he was in Louisiana.

"The property described as Lots 3 & 4, Block 22 of the Nathan Cordray Survey in Orange, Texas belonged to Leatha Ann Hebert and she paid the taxes." mykindred.com/cloud/TX/pages/b475.htm

In June 2000 I received word from a Mr. Byron Anderson regarding a letter in his possession. The letter of 1844 concerned the settlement of Nathan Cordray's estate in Louisiana.

The surname of Nathan's wife Drusilla is not established. She is living with the Henry Collins family in the 1850 Census for Grandview, Washington Co., Ohio. She is listed as the sister of Jerry W. Collins in the 1880 Census, same locality. The census records give her name as D. W. Cordray. The fact that the letter refers to her as Drusilla Williams Cordray may indicate a second marriage.
