There's a great story about him that goes like this ""Nathan 4 was with his father, Nathan 3. They were crossing a river on one horse when they were fired upon by the savages. Nathan 3 was killed but the horse and boy escaped. He was taken to Pelham, N.H. ""There he was brought up and there he married, a his posterity are numerous and respectable.

Nathan 4 joined up with the Northern Continental Army at Saratoga, N.Y., in 1777. He started something called the Danforth Farm in Antrim, N.H., in 1780
