Facts and Events
Nancy and Henry may have had 2 more daughters before Henry died, Ruth and Fannie. Both married Jewells. Nancy lived with both their families in one household in 1850, and with William and Fanny Jewell in 1860. Possibly these girls were nieces.
John and Ruth Jewell are buried with the Whites in White Cemetery in Cato, NY.
There may be additional children besides the 2-4 daughters from early census evidence.
Nancy was born in Connecticut according to the 1860 census. Her last name was "Wright or Bright" according to Edmund Cleveland in GCCF. "Wright" was far more prevalent in general and in Cayuga County. There were no "Bright" households in Connecticut in 1790 or 1800.
Nancy Wright's marker and the town records of Norwalk CT agree to the day on Nancy's birth date. Additionally, sources agree on her birth in CT.
This evidence indicates that Nancy is the daughter of Dennis and Lois Wright who were married in Norwalk in 1781.
