Helmbrecht, 68, of Evansville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of complication of diabetes.She worked as an X-ray technician in the North Vernon, Ind., Medical Center and was a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour, Ind.Surviving are a son, Jon of Evansville; a half sister, Lind Kay Myers of Indianapolis; a brother, David Allen Shields of Paducah, Ky; a half brother, Dr. Charles Lynn Shields of Paducah; and a grandson, James Lawrence Helmbrecht. Her husband, James M. died in 1998.Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Willow Road Baptist Church in Evansville, the Rev. Sam Davenport officiating.Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. to service time at the church. Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour, is handling arrangements.Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Christian Church building fund.
