Helmbrecht, 66, of Seymour died at 3:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, at Memorial Hospital.A lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was employeed by Cummins Engine Co., was a World War II Navy vetern and a member of Central Christian Church.A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Central Christian Church in Seymour, with the Rev. Sam Davenport officiating. There will be no calling.Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church.Arrangements were made by Voss and Sons Funeral Service.Mr. Helmbrecht was born in Seymour May 20, 1932, the son of Lawrence F. and Maud Bowell Helmbrecht. He married Nancy Shields Jan. 15, 1967, in Seymour. She survives.Other survivors include a son, Jon D. Helmbrecht of Evansville; a brother, Max Helmbrecht of Columbus; and a sis, Mary Butler of Seymour.He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold William and Bobby Eugene Helmbrecht.

Mr. Helmbrecht was a member of Central Christian Church and served in the United States Navy in World War II. He also worked at Cummins Engine Co.Born May 20, 1932, in Seymour, he was a son Lawrence F. and Maud Bowell-Helmbrecht. On Jan. 15, 1967, in Seymour, he married Nancy Shields, she survives.Other survivors include a son, Jon D. Helmbrecht, Evansvile; a brother, Max Helmbrecht, Columbus; and a sister, Mary Butler, Seymour, and a grandson, James Lawrence Helmbrecht.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold William Helmbrecht and Bobby Eugine Helmbrecht, and a sister-in-law.The Rev. Sam Davenport will conduct funeral servies at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church.A memorial service is planned, but there weill be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Central Christian Church. Voss & sons Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
